About Us

The Regional Rights Resource Team (RRRT)

Established in 1995, RRRT is the pioneer of human rights training in the Pacific region, working to build a culture of human rights and assisting nation states to commit to, and observe, international human rights standards.

RRRT is the Human Rights Programme of the Pacific Community (SPC), working to provide technical assistance and training in order to assist the 22 Pacific island member countries and territories of SPC to increase observance to international human rights standards through improved service delivery, access to justice and effective governance.

By providing policy advice, technical support and training services, RRRT responds to the human rights priority areas for the region such as gender equality, violence against women and children, Disability, human rights reporting and the elimination of all forms of discrimination.

RRRT has built relationships of trust with judiciaries, civil society organisations and governments throughout the region since its inception and it continues to enjoy a comparative advantage in interpreting international human rights in the context of Pacific cultures and the Pacific way of life.

RRRT works in partnership with the Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre (FWCC), Fiji Women’s Rights Movement (FWRM), International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), International Labour Organisation (ILO), Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/ Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (UNAIDS), Pacific Disability Forum (PDF), Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat (PIFS), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UNWOMEN), United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR, the University of the South Pacific (USP), Pacific Leadership Programme (PLP) and Pacific Women.
