RRRT in Fiji
Based in Fiji, RRRT is currently supporting the country in the following areas;

  • Provision of human rights law and family law training to USP Professional Diploma in Legal Practice students (2 weeks training x 2/annum)
  • Inclusion of participants into regional training for lawyers, and civil society
  • Support to CEDAW reporting

Past support included;

  • Community para-legal trainings
  • Support resulting in the ratification of the Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) by Fiji
  • Support to civil society organisations in Fiji on the drafting of initial Shadow Report to the CEDAW Committee.
  • Support to Fiji State and NGOs on the CEDAW Follow-Up Report
  • Support to Fiji's CRC report
  • Support to the passing of the Fiji Family Law Act of 2003
  • Support to Fiji's Stakeholder UPR report
  • The HIV, Ethics and Human Rights review in Fiji, 2009
