RRRT in Marshall Islands

RRRT's support to Marshall Islands is in the following areas;

  • Contribute to policy development to comprehensively address Violence Against Women on national activities
  • Inclusion of participants into regional training for lawyers, MPs, civil society and judicial officials

Past support included;

  • The HIV, Ethics and Human Rights review in Marshall Islands, 2009
  • Provision of national level training on human rights ratification and reporting to NGOs and Government as well as on UPR reporting
  • Support to the Domestic Violence Prevention and Protection Act in 2011 (through training, advice and technical assistance provided on the draft bill)
  • Support resulting in the ratification of the Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) by Marshall Islands
  • Support resulting in the ratification of the Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) by Marshall Islands
