RRRT in Nauru

RRRT is currently supporting the country is the following areas;

  • Placement of a Country Focal Officer to support activities on Gender Equality, Human rights and Strategic legislative lobbying campaigns
  • Provision of national level training on human rights ratification and reporting to NGOs and Government as well as on UPR reporting
  • Support to civil society, civil servants in legislative lobbying
  • Inclusion of participants into regional training for lawyers, MPs, civil society and judicial officials

Past support included;

  • The HIV, Ethics and Human Rights review in Nauru, 2009
  • Support resulting in ratification of Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) by Nauru
  • Community Paralegal Training
