Tonga Country Focal Officer

Siueli is RRRT’s Tonga Country Focal Officer leading RRRT’s in-country work, and is physically posted within the Tonga Ministry of Justice in Nuku’alofa, Tonga. She is a retired Deputy Commissioner Tonga Police and also served as Private Secretary to the late King, His Majesty Tupou 1V. She has worked with youth groups in San Mateo California and Children Youth facility in Barrow Alaska. A strong advocate for human rights, especially women rights and vulnerable groups, Eleni has worked in the services for domestic violence survivors for the past 20 years in California, USA, and in Tonga, Women Crises Centre TNCWC and recently DFAT Families Free of Violence Program. She also is a national translator (English to Tongan, and Tongan to English). Eleni loves singing and plays a little guitar. She has a Masters of Criminology (M. Crim.) from the University of Sydney, Australia, and a B.A, Diploma in Education from the University of the South Pacific in Fiji.
