RRRT is currently supporting the country is the following areas;

  • Support to the National Task Force on VAW; provision of technical assistance and training

  • Support to the drafting of the  domestic violence bill

  • Placement of a Country Focal Officer to support activities on Gender Equality, Human rights and Strategic legislative lobbying campaigns

  • Support to  policy development to comprehensively address Violence Against Women

  • Support to civil society, civil servants in legislative lobbying

  • Inclusion of participants into regional training for lawyers, MPs, civil society and judicial officials

  • Drafting options on comprehensive and integrated VAW legislation handbook for Tuvalu

  • Provision of national level training on human rights ratification and reporting to NGOs and Government as well as on UPR reporting

  • The RRRT trainings resulted in the strengthening and formation of several campaigns on policy and legislative change. These include:

  • Ratification of the CRPD

  • Draft legislation to address HIV and human rights

  • No Drop Policy for the Police

  • Employment Law Reform

  • Cyber Crimes Law

  • Non-Communicable Diseases Policy

  • Temporary Special Measures for Women in Decision Making

Past support included;

  • Community Paralegal Training

  • The HIV, Ethics and Human Rights review in Tuvalu, 2009

  • Support to the Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2007
