RRRT is collaborating with other SPC divisions - the Social Development programme and the Educational Quality and Assessment Programme - to implement human rights work in schools and communities under the Pacific Partnership. This work aligns to Outcome Area 3: Enabling Environments.

The Pacific Partnership to End Violence Against Women and Girls (Pacific Partnership) brings together governments, civil society organisations, communities and other partners to promote gender equality, prevent violence against women and girls, and increase access to quality response services for survivors.

The Pacific Partnership is funded primarily by the European Union, with targeted support from the governments of Australia and New Zealand and cost-sharing with UN Women; and has three outcome areas jointly coordinated by SPC RRRT, Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat (Forum Secretariat) and UN Women Fiji Multi-Country Office.

The three key outcomes are as follows:

Outcome 1

To enhance Pacific youth’s formal in-school and informal education on gender equality and prevention of violence against women and girls. This outcome is funded by the European Union and led by RRRT with EQAP and SDP.

Outcome 2

To promote gender equitable social norms at individual and community levels to prevent violence against women and girls, and to ensure survivors have access to quality response services. This outcome is funded by the European Union and Australian Government with support from the UN Women Fiji Multi-Country Office that is also the implementing agency.

Outcome 3

To empower national and regional civil society organisations to advocate, monitor and report on regional institutions and governments commitments to enhance gender equality and prevent violence against women and girls. This outcome is funded by the European Union and implemented by the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat.

RRRT is leading work in Kiribati, Tuvalu and RMI for Outcome 1, in the formal and informal education space.
